ABOUT ME

#Rohit Gaur was born on November 13 1987 in Mohali, Punjab (India). After attending New York Film Academy, & UCB in New York (US), he graduated in Film in 2005 and in Communications Studies in 2009 with high honors, at Baruch College. Since 2010 he works as an Actor & Filmmaker for independent projects in the film industry.

    As you've probably noticed, I'm a Film Geek... I'm heavily into Directors and their works and I'm always interested in what Directors people tend to like.

    My favourites are Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Terry Gilliam, Alfred Hitchcock, Ken Russell, Gaspar Noe, Andrei Tarkovsky, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Kenneth Anger, Francis Ford Coppola.

    WHAT I LISTEN

    The wonderful group from Liverpool - John, Paul, George and Ringo - The Beatles, is in my opinion one of the best things that have happened in music in the twentieth century.

    I also love The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, The Clash, Sonic Youth, Steely Dan, Creedence Clearwater Revival and classical music.

    I came up with a list of 8 books that I consider must-reads from both contemporary and classic literature:

About this Blog // Music was my first love. I like many music genres, but my favourites are classic rock, alternative and electronic music. Anyway, my most genuine passion, the one that eventually took over the others and to whom I dedicated myself, has been and still is cinema. During the last year I found out an other great love: Photography. Finally, there's literature. I never go to sleep before having read some pages of some book.

    So I spent 3 months in India learning a new business. Construction, It's the very beginning of our entry into the Hotel Business. Can't say it's easy.. Whats is? Having to work for everything and anything is the only way to grow. Otherwise you take it for granted. I like the idea of spreading our wings into a new industry because thats only way to grow.....

    Life is as simple as you make it or as difficult as you can imagine it. So many things to do and so many ways not to. The more I think about what i should be doing the more im convinced that life will just sort out itself. But planning is so important.. With no direction in life, one can spend countless years doing something that doesnt matter in the end..
